Sporadic Interesting Job

Filed under: Jobcentre Plus Database Mirror — Tags: — Martin Sullivan @ 5:09 pm

Back again, I think. Every now and again I look in the sub-set database and spot something of interest. How about this? A company called “Luminaire Arts Ltd.“, who do seem legitimate are looking for artists in Leeds (http://zois.com/9396605)

We are looking for skilled artists and painters to paint works on paper and canvas. Subjects will include landscapes, cityscenes and figurative work. We have a variety of opportunities full time and part time.

I suspect payment would be commission only, and not much of a living would be made of it. But then, isn’t that how it’s supposed to be …

Twittering Jobcentres Discovered in December 2012

Filed under: Jobcentre Plus Database Mirror — Tags: — Martin Sullivan @ 8:48 am

Last month we’ve seen eight new Twittering Jobcentre accounts. It brings the total up to 570.

This will be the last ever such listing. This month there were only three new ‘real’ Twittering Jobcentres. Since the advent of Universal Jobmatch and the new Terms and Condition I’ve not been able to maintain the Jobcentre Plus Mirror Database, it’s been replaced by the Examplar. The new Universal Jobmatch system does not link vacancies to a particular Jobcentre either. It all means that maintaining an independent list of Jobcentre Twitter accounts has become irrelevant. It was getting to be pretty thankless too. I’ve therefore switched the automation that looked for such accounts off and would direct you to the DWP maintained list (variable accuracy, PDF).

Twittering Jobcentres are listed in @JCPM_Feedback/jcp/members and @JCPM_Feedback/jcp-bis/members, save those who’ve taken to blocking me (and those are listed on this Blog). An increasingly out-of-date but fairly comprehensive and inclusive list of Internet-active Jobcentre Plus Offices, including those that are using Twitter, can be found as a CSV file on the FTP server.

I’ll no longer maintain these lists but I won’t delete them either. Well, for at least a year. The lack of maintenance means that they must therefore be regarded as becoming increasingly inaccurate.

Twittering Jobcentres Discovered in November

Filed under: Jobcentre Plus Database Mirror — Tags: — Martin Sullivan @ 10:08 am

Last month we’ve seen 25 new Twittering Jobcentre accounts. This brings the total up to 561.

A reasonable haul this November. In addition to administrative accounts, we’re starting to see individuals working for Jobcentres identifying themselves. I’m not certain to what end, though.

As you may have read, I’m no longer allowed to scrape the underlying government web-site, effectively shutting-down the Jobcentre Plus Database Mirror. These tracking efforts were ancillary to that, and I’ll stop when I’ve done December’s; that’ll be it for these postings. It is pointless trying to connect Twitter accounts to Jobcentres, when their vacancies cannot be identified.

Twittering Jobcentres are listed in @JCPM_Feedback/jcp-/members and @JCPM_Feedback/jcp-bis/members, save those who’ve taken to blocking me (and those are listed on this Blog). A comprehensive inclusive list of Internet-active Jobcentre Plus Offices, including those that are using Twitter, can be found as a CSV file on the FTP server.

The DWP also maintain a list of variable accuracy as a PDF too.

Twittering Jobcentres Discovered in October

This month we’ve seen one new Twittering Jobcentre accounts. This brings the total up to 536.

Those without a Jobcentre Office code appear to be more detached and managerial in tone.

As it’s been inactive for quite a while @JCPOldSwan has been replaced by @MerseysideJCP as Old Swan Jobcentre’s ‘official’ Twitter account

The following accounts also seem to be inactive:

Inactive Jobcentre Plus Twitter Accounts

Filed under: Jobcentre Plus Database Mirror — Tags: — Martin Sullivan @ 11:26 am

After the initial enthusiasm that characterised all our efforts, things are calming down on the Twitter Jobcentre account front. New accounts are getting rarer (I only report them here now every month) and there are accounts being renamed, consolidated and deleted. In addition to these there are a number of accounts that appear to be abandoned, in that they no longer receive Tweets.

As part of the chores that accompany all of this I’ve some programs which spot such things, and I’m listing them here.

Inactivity is defined, rather arbitrarily, as no Tweets for 56 days. Should these accounts remain inactive I’ll quietly delete them from my list of Jobcentre Twitter accounts. So, feedback is solicited.

Twittering Jobcentres Discovered in September

Filed under: Jobcentre Plus Database Mirror — Tags: — Martin Sullivan @ 4:34 pm

This month we’ve seen a number of new Twittering Jobcentre accounts. With the odd deletion, this brings the total up to 522.

The new accounts that don’t have a Jobcentre attached to them seem largely managerial. @CumbrianJCP seems to be a consolidation, it has replaced accounts specifically for Penrith, Barrow and Carlisle. For the sake of completeness I’ve made it responsible for all Cumbrian Jobcentre offices.

Twittering Jobcentres are listed in @JCPM_Feedback/jcp/members and @JCPM_Feedback/jcp-bis/members, save those who’ve taken to blocking me (and those are listed on this Blog). A comprehensive inclusive list of Internet-active Jobcentre Plus Offices, including those that are using Twitter, can be found as a CSV file on the FTP server.

The new secondary list (JCP-bis) is necessary for we’ve gone over some limit that Twitter imposes on the size of list membership.

The DWP also maintain a list of variable accuracy as a PDF too.

Twittering Jobcentres Discovered This Week

Filed under: Jobcentre Plus Database Mirror — Tags: — Martin Sullivan @ 12:30 pm

This week we’ve again only seen two new Twittering Jobcentre accounts. This brings the total up to 512.

As can be seen, we’re just seeing managerial type contacts now, so this post will now only appear once a month.

Twittering Jobcentres are listed on @JCPM_Feedback/jcp/members, save those who’ve taken to blocking me (and those are listed on this Blog). A comprehensive inclusive list of Internet-active Jobcentre Plus Offices, including those that are using Twitter, can be found as a CSV file on the FTP server.

This week we’ve seen two new Twittering Jobcentre accounts. This brings the total up to 510.

Yep, that seems to be it for this week. @Lincs_Notts_JCP appears to be a regional ‘geographic’ thing.

Twittering Jobcentres Discovered This Week

Filed under: Jobcentre Plus Database Mirror — Tags: — Martin Sullivan @ 10:26 am

This week we’ve seen five new Twittering Jobcentre accounts. This brings the total up to 508.

A geographic @CumbriaJCP Jobcentre account has now appeared to complement @CarlisleJC, @BarrowJCP and @PenrithJCP. Remember there’s the Cumbria Twitter Pilots too, if these interest you.

Now tweeting independently @PerthJCP was using the @DundeeTayside account.

Twittering Jobcentres Discovered This Week

Filed under: Jobcentre Plus Database Mirror — Tags: — Martin Sullivan @ 10:23 am

This week we’ve seen thirteen new Twittering Jobcentre accounts. This brings the total up to 503.

A number of the new accounts are managerial in nature, with one claiming to be a general News account. The managerial accounts, particularly the Customer Service Manager ones, come from Jobcentres that are already tweeting. One, @JCPSouthendCSOM, is the 500th newly observed, by my somewhat dubious count.

I should add, a little belatedly, that @BarrowJCP (Barrow in Furness) is part of the Cumbria Twitter Pilot. All their vacancies are tweeted in near-Real Time, the flakiness of Twitter allowing, as @JCPM_Furness.
